Mr Hawar Fazil Esmael, assistant lecturer and director of
career development center at Charmo University has been awarded with Fulbright
Visiting Scholars Program (VSP) for 2019. This grant is offered by U.S.
Department of State, Bureau of the Education and Cultural Affairs and it allows
Iraqi junior faculties to participate in a structured 10 weeks program in a
selected American institution. The program aims to develop the skills of Iraqi
faculty members in research and teaching methods via mentoring, class
participation, workshops, seminars and meeting. Meanwhile, the scholars will be
also given a chance to take a part in many cultural, volunteering events in
order to understand many aspects America life. As Mr Hawar has a geological
background and this program is discipline based cohort, he was selected with
six other Iraqi scholars of different science background to carry out the
program in University of Central Oklahoma which is located in Edmond city,
Oklahoma State. The program runs in the summer and starts on 30th
June 2019 and ends on 8th September 2019. |
